The universe is a powerful and magical and beautiful thing. If you stop and listen to what it’s saying, you’ll be well on your way to a full and fulfilled life. People say, “Things happen for a reason.” Well, the reason is the universe ushering things out of, or into your life. And that’s why Alex came back from North Carolina and Sara came back from Japan when they did. So, they could both work as gymnast coaches, meet each other, fall in love, and live happily ever after. The part between fall in love and happily ever after is when we met them.
Alex and Sara actually got married a couple of years ago, on a Tuesday in January, with her parents and sister, and his mom and grandma as witnesses. Alex was being deployed with the National Guard and they wanted to get married before he left.
I asked Sara to share that part of their story, she tells it like this. “As the date (Alex’s deployment) came closer, we felt more and more strongly that we should go ahead and get married before he left, but we also didn't want people to think that that was the only reason we were getting married. Finally, we decided it didn't really matter what people thought, we loved each other and this what we wanted to do.”
So now it’s time to celebrate with all of their family and friends. They chose to have another ceremony, and this time add the reception. Nazareth Hall seemed the perfect backdrop for this. They both love the outdoors and being in nature, so the ceremony was held outside and it was gorgeous! Blue sky, a little breeze, with 70 or so of their family and friends in attendance.
Even though they “technically” were already married, when it was time for their First Look, all the emotion, all the feels, and all the nervousness came rushing back like a tidal wave. For both of them! It was so beautiful photographing that part of the day, I don’t think there was a dry eye, for the couple or the photographers!
Alex & Sara, we are truly lucky to know you and are so honored to have been able to capture this day for you. We cannot wait to see what adventures you have planned!
